- Returning camper applications from families of URJ Congregations.
- New campers from URJ Congregations
- Returning camper applications from families of non-URJ Congregations.
New camper applications from families not affiliated with the URJ Congregations will be held until February 1, 2010 at which time they will be processed in the order received. Campers will be admitted provided that there is space available in that session.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Please do not allow financial concerns keep you from applying for camp. We understand that for many families the cost of camp can be overwhelming and are committed to work with you to help find a way for your child to attend. Many Jewish Organizations offer scholarships, often called camperships. Every organization has different criteria in order to qualify. If you have any questions, please contact Linda Herkes, Camp Registrar, at (415) 392-7080 ext.11 or LHerkes@URJ.org. ALL CONVERSATIONS REGARDING FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS ARE CONFIDENTIAL.
TRANSPORTATION
Arrangements will be made for Camp staff to meet campers at , and return the to, airline gates and Bay Area Temple bus stops. Detailed information is sent in the spring.
Temple bus transportation is only available for CIT participants on August 20, 2010. No temple bus transportation is available to/from camp for Avodah participants.
SPECIAL NEEDS
While we make every effort to accommodate campers with special needs, we are not always equipped to provide a quality Jewish camping experience for campers who are unable to groom and dress themselves, or look after their own basic needs unaided. Ultimately, it is the decision of the director, in consultation with our medical and nursing staff, as to whether or not a camper is able to attend camp. Please disclose all known special needs upon registration so that we can best support your family.
IMMUNIZATION POLICY
The URJ Camping system considers camp safety and public health as matters of utmost importance. The vaccination of all members of the camp community ranks as a key component in maintaining a safe environment and in decreasing the risk of transmission of contagious illness. Accordingly, the URJ Camping system requires that any member of the camp community in residence receive up-to-date, age-appropriate immunizations. The complete list of required immunizations and exemptions can be found on the Health History Form.
