Beit AmBuildings at Camp

Beit Am
The Beit Am is the main multi-purpose hall at Camp Newman. This versatile program facility includes a working fire place and houses our spacious indoor/outdoor art room.

Chadar Ochel (Dining Hall)
The Chadar Ochel is a place where the spirit of camp truly shines bright. During the week, camp runs on two meal shifts to allow us to provide extra attention for our campers needs. All meals are served Kosher style and a salad bar is always available for lunch and dinner. The highlight of every week is when our entire camp community joins together in the Chadar Ochel for a family style Shabbat meal served by our senior staff and directors.

Beit K’hilah
This smaller program space offers the perfect balance between intimacy and versatility.

Mirpah’ah (Infirmary)
This modern facility is a fully operational clinic. The Mirpa'ah has 2 private exam rooms, space for more than 12 over-night guests, private onsite nursing quarters and an unbelievable loving medical team who keep our campers happy and healthy.

Outdoor Spaces

Beit T’Filah
Beit TThis giant amphitheater, seating over 700 guests, is home to our morning mifkad boker, our Jewish rock concerts, our all camp session songs, our rockin’ shiras (song sessions) and most importantly our Shabbat services on Friday evenings.

Kikar, Mirpeset, Heeger-Messinger Plaza and Nof Harim
These four outdoor plazas offer Camp Newman a great variety of space sizes to program in. All three provide breathtaking views of the sunset and the Mirpeset houses our trademark Mogen-David floor.

The Amado Plaza (the Chai)
The developing history of Camp Newman can most richly be found in the Amado Plaza. Starting with a wonderful camper designed and created mosaic, you often find small group discussions, children studying for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah, or just some good old fashion hanging out. Pinat T

Pinat T’Fillah (Camp Fire amphitheater)
Enjoy an intimate campfire with your dearest friends or experience a Bedoin tent come alive on Yom Israel (Israel day) at our P’nat T’fillah. This 75 person amphitheater is tucked away in the corner of camp surrounded by the beauty that nature has to offer.

Lake side amphitheater
This small and intimate amphitheater that looks over our lake is many peoples’ favorite parts of camp. If you are looking for a spiritual moment, a meaningful place to pray or just a moment to reflect, this is the place for you.

Activity Areas

Athletic Facilities
Our sports facilities include 2 fields, 2 outdoor basketball courts, 3 ga-ga pits, an archery range and a brand new skate park. Art Room

Arts Facilities
Our arts program is based out of our indoor/outdoor art room located in the center of camp. It is the area where arts and crafts, pottery and silk painting take place. Our other arts facilities include a digital photography studio, digital video studio and the Wasserman Hagigah building. In the Wassermann Hagigah building you can find activities ranging from drama and dance, to silk painting and stained glass making.

Adventure Facilities
Alpine TowerOur adventure facilities include an alpine climbing tower, a low ropes course, and a lake for paddle boating. Camp Newman also has 500 acres to hike around in, including the favorite Enchanted Forest hike and the hike to our Star. The most exciting part of every campers experience is their opportunity to go on our onsite overnight. Resting about a mile and a half from main camp, these campers experience a tranquil night under the stars with some of our Israeli staff.

Waterfront Facilities
Our olympic size pool and adjacent water slide are always a big hit during the summer. Every camper has the opportunity to visit the pool at least once a day! Camp Newman also houses a small lake that is perfect for paddle boating in cabin groups at any time in the day!

Cabin Villages
There are four different villages where campers live over the summer. Our younger camp boys live in Boys Row and our younger camp girls live in Girls Village. Our oldest campers live in separate villages at the top of camp. All cabins are nicely tiled and have bathrooms in them! These bunks are winterized and can be rented out for groups in the off-season.
